Prom the class of twenty-two pupils graduating from P.H.S. In the year nineteen hundred and fifty-five, five of them have gone through all the years of school together. They are Stanley Nichols, Marilyn Bohllng, Elizabeth Ackerman, Darlyne Maulsby, and Bill Wettstead. Miss Hulqulst started us on our merry way In our kindergarten year. Delorls Quick and Jackie Bocklus Joined us in the first grade. That year seven eager youngsters crowded into Miss Moore s room. In the second grade Donnie Broman, Marilyn Moore, and Kent Spears joined our class making its way steadily to the doors of knowledge. During both our second and third grade Miss Hurst was our teacher. During the middle of our third grade Kent Spears left. This left 9 in CMiss Ekwall taught us during the fourth grade. Marilyn Moore left during this year. Miss Ekwall was also our teacher for our fifth and sixth grade. Marilyn Moore rejoined us in the fifth grade and Donnie Broman left. The next year we were promoted to the sixth grade where Jim Gish joined us only to leave at the end of the year. „ . . In the seventh grade the class sailed smoothly along with Miss Madsen at In the eighth grade, taught by Mrs. Wendell, there were 3 new additions to our class----Beverle Slaughter, Shirley Smitheram, and Bill Adams. Upon entering our green freshman year we were immediately Joined by John Anderson, Jerry Galusha, Del Galusha, John Lowe, Donna Hulse, Marilyn Dawson, Bernard Arbuck, De Vonne Condon, Jim Snodgrass, and Jean Anderson. Most of them coming from country school, this raised the class to a total of 21. However, during the year Jean Anderson left and Bill Adams left at the end of the year to go to Sutton. Miss Hagarity was our sponsor. Jim Gish rejoined us during our sophomore year from Blue Springs where he lettered in basketball during his freshman year. Dotty Churchill from Ohiowa and Richard Kness from Grafton also Joined the class. Shirley Smitheram left at the end of the year to go to Hebron. Our sponsor was Mr. Green. Our junior year was a memorable year. This was the year we received our class rings, and prepared for the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, Moonlight and Roses.” Remember making all those roses? Broadway may have hit produc- tions but so did the Junior class with the play. Apartment Thirteen, directed by Mr. Robert Wayne Brown. At the beginning of our Junior year, Rex Becker from Exeter Joined our class, and Jackie Bockius left at the end of the year to go to Kansas. Our sponsors were Miss Allen and Miss Range. Our senior year was also a highlight of memories. Senior pictures were taken, sneak day, preparing the annual, baccalaureate,and commencement. We had another hit production with The Curious Savage a play revolving around Mrs. Savage an elderly woman. Our director was again Mr. Brown. At the beginning of our senior year Lyn O’Brien from Alexandria joined our class, making it a class of eleven boys and eleven girls.
