During both our second and third grade Miss Hurst was our teacher. During the middle of our third grade Kent Spears left. This left 9 in CMiss Ekwall taught us during the fourth grade. Marilyn Moore left during this year. Miss Ekwall was also our teacher for our fifth and sixth grade. Marilyn Moore rejoined us in the fifth grade and Donnie Broman left. The next year we were promoted to the sixth grade where Jim Gish joined us only to leave at the end of the year. â . . In the seventh grade the class sailed smoothly along with Miss Madsen at In the eighth grade, taught by Mrs. Wendell, there were 3 new additions to our class----Beverle Slaughter, Shirley Smitheram, and Bill Adams. Upon entering our green freshman year we were immediately Joined by John Anderson, Jerry Galusha, Del Galusha, John Lowe, Donna Hulse, Marilyn Dawson, Bernard Arbuck, De Vonne Condon, Jim Snodgrass, and Jean Anderson. Most of them coming from country school, this raised the class to a total of 21. However, during the year Jean Anderson left and Bill Adams left at the end of the year to go to Sutton. Miss Hagarity was our sponsor. Jim Gish rejoined us during our sophomore year from Blue Springs where he lettered in basketball during his freshman year. Dotty Churchill from Ohiowa and Richard Kness from Grafton also Joined the class. Shirley Smitheram left at the end of the year to go to Hebron. Our sponsor was Mr. Green. And now we bring you that dark-haired, deep-voiced Jim Gish. Jim is now coach of the Kentucky basketball team which is rather strange because Jim has never been any farther south than MSouth of the Border, (t ie Nebraska border, that is.) Donna Hulse, our next guest of the evening, has come all the way from Fill Islands to' be with us this evening. She is private secretary to King Sam Song. Many of the losses were due to the lack of experience and injuries, but all in all the team showed good sportsmanship and gained knowledge in human relations which is what the game is played for. The following is a short summary of this seasons happenings: Fairmont 11 Shickley 20 A close one but lack of experience is what beat us. Fairmont 12 Dorchester 20 Another one that could have been ours had Lady Luck been with us Fairmont 27 McCool 6 The Tigers chased the Mustangs ell over the field that aftemocr Fairmont 13 Beaver Crossing 39 A little self-confidence could hrve made the score closer.
