STUDENT COUNCIL Bk Sk 'lf The Student Council of the Fairmont Senior High School is one of the oldest organizations in the school. It is an honor for any student to be elected a member. The Student Council has been a great help to the faculty of our school in handling its problems. A change in set-up was observed this year. There were, for the first time,' three representatives each from the Junior and Senior classes. This was due to the fact that in the last student election there were tie votes for two boy candidates and tie votes for two girl candidates in Senior and Junior Classes, respectively. This year the Sophomore representatives were appointed by the principal. Besides sponsoring activities to create and develop school spirit, the Student Council assumes responsibility for matters of school control, officially represents the school at public gatherings where it is desirable and necessary to have official repre- sentationg and makes rules and regulations for all activities of the school when such regulations are not provided for in any other way. Members of the Student Council have been busy this year with their activities. They joined the State Student Council organization which was just started this year. They were represented at the convention, which was held at Weston, by Betty Jenkins, who was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Buckey. The Council also sponsored Rinney Boy who was enjoyed very much by the students. The Council has set a splendid example this year for all coming Student Councils. Page Fifteen, XV QM' vw
