Moth Dept. otters vciried selections to Eost students Algebra l students learned to extend the tundamentals ot arithmetic to gen- eral numbers. Pupils learned the basics ot equations, inequalities, and graphs ot linear equations. Algebra ll students turther developed problem-solving skills. The course tocused on more advanced ideas, including exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations. By presenting their work on the board, geometry students had the chance to explain the problems and tind their own mistakes. Mr. Dennis Pris- er's geometry classes took a break trom written examinations and had an oral one instead. East's math department ottered the student who desired a greater under- standing ot math a more enriched pro- gram. Trigonometry and Algebra III reviewed algebra and also emphasized relationships among the tunctions. Tri- gonometry and solid geometry students explored solid and analytic geometry and an introduction to calculus. Advanced Math IV concentrated on a thorough study ot calculus.
