Two devices that were helptul were speed reading machines and the word game Scrabble. Mr. Riley, a teacher in South Unit, taught the course. Guided Independent Reading was a special course tor students who enioy reading on their own and at their own pace. Multi-media consisted ot studying medias such as television, newspaper, and radio. Speech students participated in speech tournaments and many won tro- phies. Students prepared tor contests during speech classes.
