Edst Chess Club checkmdtes West in grudge mcitch Members ot Chess Club played a tull WOL schedule. The varsity team con- sisted ot tive members. Varsity team placed tenth out ot 40 teams in the Fairmont West Invitational held in November. At the state tourna- ment in Columbus, East placed in the top teams. Chess Club members improved their slcills by competing against one another at weekly meetings. Candy sales in the gym atter school tinanced the club.
