Bobbi D'Amico, Invitational win, best WCL slate highlight season Fairmont East girls' gymnastics team ended an- outstanding season with a tinal record ot 6-I. Their only loss was in the season openers to a strong Bel- mont team. This is the best record achieved by girl gymnasts in East's his- tory. ln addition, the team had a per- tect WOL record ot 5-O. lnstead ot having one girl as captain tor a whole season, each ot the seniors co-captained two meets. This allowed all seniors to assume leadership. This season, the team attended two invitationals. At the Belmont Invita- tional, they received sixth place, behind both Centerville and West. At the Fair- mont West lnvitational at the end ot the season, East come out the victor over both and won tirst place. At the end ot the extremely close invitational, West seemed to have won. But when a iudge's error was discov- ered, East became the champion by one-tenth ot a point. This was the tirst time tor the team to win an invitational. - Coach Pat Jayson. Back Row: Vicki l'lsia.
