Girls' basketball Team ends season with a winning record Fairmonl Eas'r's girls' baslcelball Team, coached by Miss Nancy Benedum, who has coached The Falconerles since The opening of Fairmonl Easf High School in l963, ended anolher successful season wifh a winning record ol eighl wins and Two losses. The highlighl ol 'rhe season was 'rhe Fairmonl Wesl game. The deleal ol Wesl marked Fairmonl Easl's eighlh deleal of lhe Dragons in lhe pasl eighl years. The Falconelles delealed The Fairmonl Wesl Dragons by a score of 53 lo 36. The Varsily losl lo The Xenia Buccaneers by only lhree poinls in 'rhe lasl few minules of rhe game. The final score of The game was 52 lo 55. A+ a special awards banquet held in March al Do+'s Banquel Hall, several seniors were recognized for lheir 'rhree-year member- ship on 'rhe Team. Those honored were Cheryl Balmer, Marcia Donaldson, Jo Ann Kurz, Kalhy Rasmussen, and Meg Websler. Olher awards given a+ l'he banquel were: Leading Rebounder, Cheri Miller, Mosl lnlerceplions, Tina Alcorn: Leading Scorer, Cheri Miller: Leading Free Throw Shooler, Cheryl Baker: Mosl' Free Throws Made During Praclice, Jo Ann Kurz. Voled Mosl' Valuable, by her leammales was senior Cheryl Balmer.
