Ecist volleybcill tecim detects West tor seventh stroight yecir East's girls' volleyball team set ll new records. Deteating West tor the seventh successive time and scoring an all-time high ot 334 points tor the sea- son were only two ot the varsity team's accomplishments. The only loss handed to East was by a strong varsity Xenia team. East lost the tirst game 8-I5 but returned to win the second one I5-I I. ln the deciding game, however, Xenia deteated Eair- mont East by a slim two-point margin. To provide extra incentive and drive, two clubs were established tor the vol- leyball team. The Serving Points club required 25 points and the Spiking club required IO spikes. Grange, green, yel- low, and pink smile buttons were awarded, according to the number ot points served or spikes accomplished. On January 4, the volleyball banquet was held at Dot's Banquet Room. Spe- cial awards were leading scorer, Marcia Donaldson: most improved, Connie Myers: most points scored in three years, Marcia Donaldson: most valuable player, Debbie Vaught.
