Music depcirtment Besides the entertainment provided by East's football team in their best season ever, each halttime the band and Debs graced the tield with dances to such popular tunes as Shalt and l've Got Rhythm. The band per- tormed dilticult drills to hits like Alex- ander's Ragtime Band. Wintertime brought the band and orchestra together for two concerts. Pep band boosted spirit at basketball games, and Girls' Glee Club helped to inaugurate Downtown Dayton's First Annual One World ot Christmas. Adding a new dimension to the dra- matic performances this year, East's orchestra backed up the iunior class play, Little Boy Pound. They played Brian's Song, Pieces ot Dreams. and Summer ol '42. Ending the school year, all the talents ol the music department worked together and staged the traditional spring operetta. My Fair Lady was this year's selection.
