With regret we see him leave, and so we dedicate this sports seetion to him. his resignation was announced on febtuaty 21, 1966 by the director of athletics harvey woods, who said: we appre- ciate the tradition of winning, hard-nose basketball that dick has given to fairleigh dickinson university. his resignation is accepted with regret, but i'm happy that he is assuming an opportunity of great importance in the adminiscrative phase of the education program. all those who have knewn him, worked for him, 01' have seen the product of his work, realize that we are losing quite a man. but dick holub does :10: leave without regret. he said: i111 miss the whole area of coaching, regretfully i have to do it. i know i'll miss basketball aloe he will miss coach- ing and he will miss his teami i'll miss this group, which has the Finest potential of any i've ever hadi dick holub, who has had only four losing years, is the Only basketball coach that faitleigh has ever had. under his direction the university has taken a prominent place on the eastern basketball scene, marked by entry in the new met conference this season. the knights have won six major titles under him. his litst championship quintet was the 1952 team that won mzia district 31 honors and the new jersey intercollegiate athletic association crown. the f.diu. cagers repeated as minim: champs in 1955. in 1956 the team captured the tri-state collegiate league title, and in 1959 the knights gave f.d.u. its second Mia district crown. this is quite a record for out coach a record to be proud of. we too are proud, and we hate to see him go, but joining harvey woods we wish him the best in his new posmon.
