Because of HS rapid developmenT, iT was expand- ed in 1948 To a four-year academic insTiTuTion. The PresidenT's goal is To mainTain The presenT level of enrollmenT and To conTinue advancing The academic sTandards of The UniversiTy. Thus, The emphasis is a qualiTaTive raTher Than a quanTiTaTive one. Dr. SammarTino sees The main Task of The adminisTraTion as one of conTinued sTriving for excellence in all aspecTs of universiTy life. Through his exTensive Travels and inTeresTs in inTernaTional affairs, Dr. Sammar- Tino has gained wide recogniTion abroad for himsehC and for The UniversiTy. This awareness of The viTal imporTance of mainTaining an inTernaTional ouTlook is ex- emplified by Fairleigh Dickinson's newly acquired graduaTe school in England and by special UniversiTy programs designed To reduce The cosTs and enrich The experi- ences of Travel abroad.
