10 Friendship Library Edward Broadhead The Friendship Library on the Madison Campus is one of the most rapidly growing units of the University. Opened in 1958, the library has built up a coliection of 45,000 volumes; some of the areas emphasized are in liberal arts, sciences, edu- cation and business administration. In addition to having an impressive periodical room, the circu- lation librarians are kept busy cataloguing over 12,000 books annually. The tri-campus system of loaning books is one of the outstanding features of the library--this Dorothea Creamer Circulation Librarian D i rector process is eSpecially appreciated by the student trying to finish his already over-due term paper. The students are able to choose from semi- sheltered alcoves, a reading room and a discus- sion room and to sit and catch up on their read- ing. The dedicated staftE of the Friendship Library, under the direction of Mr. Broadhead, are continu- ally striving to meet students' needs. Thus far, they have succeeded.
