SSACHUSETTS wfeshi wSBS Co-editors: Mark Isaksen, Rebecca DeSouza Advisor: Mrs mm 1 To The Class of 1986: On behalf of the staff and myself, we congratulate you on this occasion of your graduation from Fairhaven High School and commend you highly for your achievements. The class has been impressive throughout these past three years, a truly outstanding group. During the past three years, I have watched you become more poised and confident in your capabilities and have been pleased to see your accomplishments. You have contributed much to your school and that contribution has helped your own development. Best wishes in all the years ahead. May they be happy and fulfilling ones for you. Godspeed. Sincerely, Carlton C. Albritton 2 Principal’s Address It is with great respect and appreciation that our class dedicates the 1986 Huttlestonian to Ms. Debra Bogalhas. For three years, she has helped to guide and advise the Class of ’86 through many good times. Ms. Bogalhas has assisted many students with patience and understanding. Our class had benefited greatly from her coordination of many projects and events. Without her help, the Class of ’86 would surely be missing many good memories. Her ambition, drive, and sincerity have set an example for the students of F.H.S. She has certainly been a crucial part in the success of our class. We leave with many thanks to and sincere admiration of Ms. Bogalhas from the Class of ’86. And the wise man says, “Speak not from the heart, but from the mind, that is where the truth lies.” Yet, when the boy speaks from his mind alone, he is cold and insensitive. So the wise man says, “Find the median between intellect and emotion, and there will lie reason.” But when the boy finds that line and tries to follow it, he is indecisive. Finally, the wise man says, “Search for that part within you called your self, and ask only that self for the answers to life’s most dif¬ ficult questions. For it is only your self that can know what is best for you.” The boy took the sage advice of the wise man and found in himself his best friend. In July, Natalia was one of forty Austrians who were able to come to America through A.F.S. After a period of orientation, she came to Fairhaven and met her host family, the Rogers. Making friends came easy to her, even before school began, especially since many of us were so interested in meeting her. Natalia, like most A.F.S. students has attempted to put as much as she could into the one year she’s spent in America. She chose courses in school that provided her with a full schedule. She participated in Athletics; she ran Cross Coun¬ try and played Tennis. Her other school activities included A.F.S. Club, French Club, Band (She played the flute with them when they went to Toronto.), Orchestra, and ANNIE. Natalia had numerous A.F.S. responsibilities as well. Her travels included trips to Cape Cod and skiing trips to New Hampshire. It seemed her energy was limitless. How did she do it all? When Natalia leaves in July, we hope she will take many wonderful memories with her. For many members of the Class of ’86, their Senior year at F.H.S. was even more special because Natalia was here to share it with them. 54 Seniors ) jyl f - pK|H| Jf te If k 4 Jr V Seniors 55 56 Seniors GflNDIDS Seniors 57 s u Most Athletic P Most School-Spirited John Haaland Chris Pita e r 1 a t 1 v e Superlatives Steve Bruneau Donna Wunschel Most Versatile Michelle Calheta TonyMonteiro 58 Seniors GQ and Vogue S u P e r 1 a t 1 v e Superlatives Class Devils Ed Hebert Terry Moura Chris Claflin Kim Cormier Jane Michaud Rob Ferreira Seniors 59 s u Most Involved P 60 Seniors Nicest Eyes Cathy Cloutier Darren Mello Most Gullible Sue Drew Chris Langlois s u P e r 1 a t 1 v e Superlatives Nicest Smile Peter Dias Wendy Peters Seniors 61 s u Most Curious P Most Argumentative e r 1 a t 1 v e Superlatives John Bennett Kelly Guillotte Most Intellectual Lisa Menard Eric Labonte JeffRuell Carolyn Murray 62 Seniors Most Artistic S u Most Musical Most Bashful Pam Leong Matt Martin Jim Wilson Sue Gauthier Wendy Crane Doug Bourgault P e r 1 a t 1 v e Superlatives 18 19 20 21 22 1.
