The Class of 1971 respectively dedicates its yearbook to a man who has given his time and effort to both the faculty and the student body of Fairhaven High School. Teaching is more than a profession to this man, it is a way in which he can give a little of himself to help others. His calm expression and mannerism make his students enjoy learning his subjects. There are dangers from abroad and from within. To meet these threats, the present generation, adult and student alike, must assume greater responsibilities if the benefits of democracy are to endure and if the func¬ tioning of democracy is to continue unimpaired. It is mandatory, therefore, that young people today must have understanding of the meaning of democracy, a sincere devotion to its ideals, some experience in the democratic way of living, and a desire to work for its preservation and improvement. To the implementations of these premises, education at this school is committed.
