SThere 3s a Reason A time of love, a time of hate; A time of war, a time of peace; A time when you may embrace, A time to refrain from embracing. A time to gain, a time to lose; A time to rend, a time to sew; A time to love, a time to hate; A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late. To everything, turn, turn, turn; There is a season, turn turn, turn; And a time to every purpose under heaven. Words: Book of Ecclesiastes Adaption by Pete Seeger ■ • • ■ . I • . I I l ' H. 6 It is with deep appreciation that we dedicate this forty-third volume of THE HUTTLESTONIAN to Mrs. Mabel H. Knipe. Mrs. Knipe is a dedicated and tireless person, one who understands many of the attitudes and problems of young people. For many years, in fact, so many that she was a teacher of many of our parents, she has aided students in Fairhaven to complete their education and has inspired them to go on to fuller and more successful lives. Although we do not by any means agree with all of Mrs. Knipe’s ideas, we do respect her viewpoints, and we salute her integrity and determination to do her part to make the ■world a better place in which to live. In addition to her duties as head of the English department, her untiring efforts on behalf of a variety of projects, the school newspaper and the Biafran aid collection taken up last Christmas, have earned her gratitude of students and faculty alike. The warmth of her personality and the strength of her character have been driv¬ ing forces at Fairhaven High School for many years. It is for all these reasons and with an eye also on her decades of thankless but untiring service to the young people of our town that we dedicate this, our yearbook, to Mrs. Mabel H. Knipe.
