(fnglish Proficiency in our native language is one of the greatest, most useful assets which we as students can cultivate. During our years at Fairhaven High School, we are given training in the arts of speaking and writing with ease and clarity. We learn to express ourselv es to others and to communicate our thoughts. Another facet of English training at F.H.S. is varied reading in Eng¬ lish, American, and world literature. Through prose and poetry we continue our search after truth. MABEL H. KNIPE A.B., M.A. Mrs. Knipe is the head of the English Depart¬ ment. She is a graduate of Tufts University and Boston University. A graduate of the University of Vermont, she enjoys painting and reading about the theatre. PRISCILLA P. HILLER Mrs. Hiller, who attended Nasson College, teaches English and speech.
