T raining in the Practical Arts develops skills for jobs or hobbies that will always be a source of pride and enjoyment. The Home Economics Department prepares girls to be good homemakers, while the Industrial Arts Department offers boys courses in mechanical draw¬ ing, shop, and printing. GENEVIEVE R. MODESTO Mrs. Modesto attended Bridgewater State College, Fitchburg State College, Rhode Island School of Design, and Syracuse University. She teaches clothing and homemaking. RICHARD L. ARIETA B.S. Mr. Arieta is a graduate of New Bedford Institute of Technology and Bridgewater State College. He has also done graduate work at Siena College. Mr. Arieta is a teacher of mechanical drawing and our assistant football coach. He is interested in golf and basketball. PETER P. BRIGGS Mr. Briggs, a former student at Fairhaven High School, attends Bridgewater State College. He is a teacher of industrial arts, woodworking, and printing. Among his interests are model¬ building, sailing, and woodworking. WALTER SAWICKI Mr. Sawicki, who attended New Bedford In¬ stitute of Technology, Keene State College, and Bridgewater State College, teaches industrial arts and shop. He is interested in woodworking, metalworking, and sports. 29

Training in Fine Arts yields hours of pleasure throughout one’s life. DOROTHY DIDOMENICO B.M. Mrs. Di Domenico is a graduate of Boston University, where she studied Music Education. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and read¬ ing. ELIZABETH MANDELL Mrs. Mandell, our art supervisor, graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Her interests are, art block painting, and portrait painting. JOSEPH RAPOZA Mr. Rapoza, our new art teacher, is a graduate of Bradford Durfee School of Technology. In his spare time he enjoys modern jazz, sports car racing, and painting. 28
