Yet Fairhaven journalists made a RECORD '--- -and theyre good at the trnfle By ELIZABETH TEICHRUEW' To anv normal young person in sehool, any Fri- day is a blessed relief, and brings a eertain earefree joy, hut espeeially pleasant are the twiee-aemonth Fridays when l 1lfT1IIl7'I'Il lfecordx are distrihuted. The Record was first printed in January, 1926. At first it was a small edition, printed hy two shops on the South Hide. YVhen finaneial eondition grew het- ter a little later, the paper was enlarged to the pres- ent size, then, as the depression redueed the fund set aside by the advertisers, it was again a small edition. Finally. on aeeount of husiness strain, the Board of l'idueation deeided that high sehool papers eould no longer solieit advertising. After several meetings and diseussions, it was deeided that the journalism elass would print a weekly hulletin. 'l'his lvulletin endured one year. Then 'Amore meetings --more discussions, and on Oetoher fi, 1933 the I !Ii7',I!IT'!'Il Ifeeorrl again appeared in its present size, a printed newspaper. All through this eventful history of the Ifl'f'U7'!l, Mr. Howell, Principal of l airhaven, has been one of its strongest supporters. Ile and Miss Sedgwick, Ifeeorrl adviser, as well as the numerous husiness ad- visers. deserve mueh more than mere words for un- tiring faithfulness. Xllss xl-lliilld ll-l4'I'Ill tid
