AUNTI EM, AUNTI EM!!!!! HURRICANE GLORIA stormed into Fairfield but its impact was a mere bag of shells. The storm was powerful enough to knock out elec- tricity on campus and cause the evacuation of nearly all beach residents. Cancelled classes triggered all-day partying and many hurri- keg impromptus. Beach dwellers sandbagged their shacks and left for higher ground, and free food was available at Seilers. Kegs under the moon, monopoly by candlelight and dancing in the dark were the newly adopted emergency ac- tivities. Thursday Night entertainment was relo- cated to the Stag-her and the Horseshoe and students had to settle for second best. Daily Naut visitors created F.U.B.A. to ease the shock of no Naut. This association planned daily beach parties for its members and the acrynym means Fairfield University Beach Association, or simply a Naut substitute. The building that once housed the Naut reopened in late May as the Sea- grape, but first student reaction was a bit sour to the higher prices and disinfected atmosphere.
