Each year a new group of students gain actual experience in editing and managing this mimeo- graphed paper which appears each month. It con- tains original art work, features, news, editorials, sports, and comments by the students. The 1953 CHIEFTAIN staft's goal has been to present to the best of its ability an interesting pictorial account of life at Fair- field during 1953. Plans for the yearbook were begun in the summer of 1952 and continued through until our final deadline, February 19. We, the staff, wish to thank the Art Department under the direction of Mr. Bernard Le Poris, the Commercial Department under the auspices of Mr. Harry Allen, Mr. Fred Stroehlein, school photographer, Miss Jeanne Luddy, the annual advisor, and all other students and faculty members who helped make the CHIEFTAIN a success.
