Where ' s the ball? Jr. High Enjoys Successful Season The Jr. High football team really improved this year. They came from a 0-5 record last year to a 2-2-1 this year. The outstanding boys on offense were Dick Armington, Tod Groff, and Tim Charlton. The outstanding boys on defense were Mark Baker, Tod Groff, and Brian Snider, (a very promising 7th grader) Coach Auker summed up the sea- son with this statement; Real good teamwork to produce winning season. Jr. Varsity Gains Experience Defense is the name of the aame. B-Team R .ecord Fairfield Lakeland 22 Fairfield Wawasee 56 Fairfield 7 LaVille 21 Fairfield Triton 18 Fairfield Jimtown 38 B-Team Football The B-Team. comprised mainh of freshmen with a few sophomores and juniors, did not win any games but gained experience that will be beneficial next year. Most of the teams they played were physically stronger and had more experience. With the experi- ence received this year and a year ' s growth, these young men should be able to help the varsity foot- ball program in the years to come. To the shower after a hard fought aame Coach Auker makes his point

Bob Alverez, John Hire, Steve Miller, Ben Stuzman, Fred Fisher, and Ralph Lutes. Cross-Country Teams in a huddle, GO! Cross-Country is a sport that in- volves many aspects of character. To run the two mile course for practice and at meets takes de- termination, hard work, stamina and an extreme amount of de- dication. These are qualities. The team, in a rebuilding stage, ran to a 3-12 record. Bob Alvarez had the fastest time and set a nev school record of 9:43. Alvarez was also selected as the most valuable runner and Fred Fisher v as voted the most improved runner. Most of this year ' s team will re- turn and with a ear of experi- ence the team should be able to improve. They ' re off and running. Bob sets a new record. 67
