Tennis The 71-72 Tennis team won the conference this year. Their record was 4-6. Donn Huber was named the most valuable player. Donn Huber and Gary Weybright were number one doubles ream and ad- vanced into the quarter finals of the local sectional. Roger Hersh- berger and Eric McDowell were two fine freshmen who sparked the team this year. Varsity Football The 1971 season was one of many improvements and new records on the part of the team. In this, the second season of full varsity competition, the Falcons compiled a 4-5-1 record. The team scored 71 points for a 7.1 average per game compared with 47 points and a 4.7 average last year. The opposition was held to 145 points of a 14.5 average per game com- pared with 269 points and 26.9 average per game in 1970. The record in the Northern State Con- ference was 1-3-1. Don Weaver was selected All-Conference as a defensive back and was voted MVP of this years squad. Lavonne Miller received a rating of All- Area defensive-end and All-Confe- rence defensive-end. Doug Swine- heart and Dick Rohrer tried for the most tackles at 67 and Roh- rer received the Mental Attitude Award. Smith and Seeor combine lor a long gain 15-20-45 HIKE! 63
