Marching Band Highlights Half Time Both the Band Choir this year were successful in everything. Be- tween the two, nearly 700 medals were earned. Also Fairfields Music department sponsored the NISVO- BA contest in April with almost 1600 students from all over the Northern part of Indiana. Concert Choir was split into two choirs because of so many mem- bers, but THEY performed together several times during the year. They gave a Christmas program with all varities of music. The Swing Choir sang all year at various churches and Social organizations. The Marching Band was great en- tertainment during the half time of Football games. They worked long and hard to get every forma- tion right. They also marched on Memorial Day and at Synnyside Park Days. Concert Band gave several concerts during the year. These included the Christmas Concert and Senior Con- cert in the spring. Also everyone in the Music department perform- ed in the annual Music Festival, May 6, in the gym. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7- line. 47

Let ' s Get Into the Swing of Things The Pep Band provided music at our home Basket- ball games, and at pep sessions. They were under the direction of Mr. Harness. Swing Band, directed by Mr. Metzler, performed at various events throughout the community. They also participated in the Jazz Rock Festival at the North- side Gym in Elkhart, The Cecilian Singers gave many secular and religious programs for churches and clubs throughout the school year.
