Lettermen's Club The Lettermen's Club held their first meeting of the year October 12, 1951. LeRoy Schilling was elected president: Norman Beck, vice president: Bob McLeod, secretary and treasurer: and Dennis Stack, reporter at the second meeting, Projects for the year such as insurance for lettermen football players, a hobo day and dance and selling pop at basketball games were also discussed at this meeting. Initiation of new members was successfully executed later on in the year. The Fairfield FHA Chapter has had a very successful year under the direction of Miss Ramona Nelson. The main event of the year was the District Convention held in the Fairfield Gym, October 20. At this convention Alta Converse and Shirley Larkin were elected secretary and song leader, The meeting was conducted by the District and State President, Hallie jenkins. Eight schools were represented and 300 people attended. The Sadie Hawkins party, which is sponsored each year by the MHA, was held December 4 in the hot lunch room. Bobbie Snider and Terry Radcliffe were awarded the prizes for being the best Daisy Mae and Li'l Abner. The main money making project was selling hot dogs at home basketball games and annual projects of the FHA were the Christmas party, and a coffee hour for members and their mothers. Twenty-six girls were initiated into the Fairfield Chapter, February 4, at a candle- light ceremony. Ten boys, who started Home Ec at the semester, also joined the FHA Chapter in the spring. The state FHA Convention was held in Great Falls April l7, 18. Four delegates and a large percentage of the chapter members at- tended. L..ll....lL...l I-J The Fairfield FFA Chapter began the school year of l95lf52 with 50 members and have Mr. Stensland as their advisor. Among their membership they have one state officer, one district officer and two of their members have received State Farmer Awards. The Chapter's biggest investment is 40 head of sheep which were leased to Howard De.'Zort for the year. These sheep must be leased to a FFA member only, preferably a junior. ,kf Q J fy As an additional money making project they sold Christmas trees to the public durina the month of December. The District Convention was held at Choteau March 28, 29. Most of the chapter attended and they competed in all events. The four senior members and most of the juniors attended the V State Convention which was held at Bozeman April 16-19. A summertime trip is planned which will take the chapter members to various points of interest in the state. The officers have done much to keep the chapter in qood standing, lt is the hope that in future years this chapter may become one of the best chapters around.
