I, . . . . . 0 I, Billy Chappell bequeath my ability to get out of predicaments to CLASS PR OPHE C Y On May 7 1958 walking along a lonely street 1n New York City, a f1gure slumped and aged with worry approached amagnificent building ghe nonced the cornerstone gn whlch was engraved Erected by Lee Carlton Clark and designed by Lamar McGown She lingered a mom ent as the memories of these two boys in their high school life drifted back to her Ah Yes those glor1ous study hall days when the girls studied Lamar s features But those are days gone by she muttered to herself and bracing her shoulders she shoots through the radio act 1ve door and 15 lifted to the top floor by atomicators She laughed a little remembering the creaky stairs and slamming doors of dear ole F H S Maybe these inconveniences inspired Billy Chappell and Ed ward Ward to become the great inventors they are today Just a few more steps and she d be there but at this instant she bumped into the Janitor Jack Pennington And then before her appeared the glass panel door and she saw his name printed there and her sp1r1ts soared to the sky She was given courage by that name for if he could meet the world and flghtvhis way upward the least she could do was to let him try to ease her mind of the worry of the failure or success of the class of 1948 In the beautifully furnished 1-eceptlon room, Slttlng pertly at the desk was Miss Dorothy Anderson busying herself with the duties of the day She g1'aC10L1S1Y came forward to meet the sweet l1tt1e lady kissing her on both cheeks to express her overjoyed feeling at seeing chiatrist sprang from his desk like a young boy and envoloped her in his sparkling personality He put her completely at ease and they be gan to talk about the Class of 1948 From the books of the disordered f111ng cabinet the bookkeeper Howard Brown had been at work But rambling through the f1les the Doctor was able to find the documents that maybe would ease the mind of the patient But before he could be seated she asked the question that was upper most 1n her m1nd Have they succeeded in the battle of life? With a broad grin the psychia trist answered From all accounts they are happy A few have had quite a set back 1n life but knowing that they had a friend like you be hind them it gave them courage to get up and take another hold on life grim determination to overcome all Handing her a copy of the New York Times which incidentally was published by Joseph Lee V1t1cus Kirgan Jr he noticed alight come into her face as she read the startling headlines World faI'11011S b'-111 rider Dale Willard and h1s partner Milton Allen, will appear at the World s Fair from July first through July eighth at Madison Square Garden in New York City Turning to the sports page, she sees in scribed 1n large letters Fireball Livingston hurls h1S fourth hitless her again' She led the way to the office and this famous, dignified psy- game of the season On the 0pp0S1te page she reads Hotcleats Guy ton and h1s New York Chants come through w1th another v1ctory Q60 O W1th a content sm1le she handed lt back to h1m and asked 1n her sweet vo1ce What about Veldean Scott?
