Varsity Cheerleading Squad. This year, three male cheerleaders and a mascot were added to the ten member group. Dur- ing the summer they attended a Cheerlead- ing Clinic at the University of Mississippi in Oxford and received a trophy along with Superior and Excellent ratings in Competi- tion. Pat Harris of the F.H.S. Beta Club entered the race as a candidate for State President. After a day and a half of hard campaigning, the elec- tion was held and when the results were in, Pat had received a majority of votes from the 2635 Beta members present. At MBA the band received third in their division. At Tar- rant, the one hundred and seven member band received superior ratings in all categories. This year the band is planning to attend Alabama District Champi- onship for the first time in six years.
