To be amember of the F Club, a boy must have earnecla maior or minor letter in one of the sports of the school . Minor letter winners are allowed to participate in all the affairs of the club except voting. Cnly boys with maior letters are allowed to vote. The main purposes of this club are to promote among its members a knowledge of fellowship, sportsmanship, and leadership, to promote better athletics in F. C. H. First meeting of G.A.A. Science Club had meeting to elect officers. Lost first football game to Bridgeport 26-12. ls my lipstick on straight? Mr. Hammack took pictures. F.H.A. meeting to elect officers. Received first paper. Beat Mt. Carmel 6-0. Beat Olney 26-0. Our cheering must have helped. Football team, G.A.A., and band went to Illinois. Oh, those bright socks and caps they came home with! OCTOBER Everyone having petitions signed in more or less boys vs. girls election. Voting for class officers. Salem beat us 48-7. Group Pictures. Spanish Club meeting to elect officers. School out for institute. Hurrayl Beat Albion 8-0. lt was close but Flora beat us 12-6. We beat Carmi 34-7. G.A.A. play day at Flora. You girls weren't stiff, were your? Pep Club meeting to elect officers. Student Council meeting to elect officers. NOVEMBER Such lovely hatsl I Have you seen Mr. Smith's? RAIN! It wouldn't have seemed like Homecoming without it. Queen, Betty l-licks, was crowned by football captain Ray Van Buskirk. Her at- tendants were Betty Brown and Wanda Morgan--Betty Porter and Jean John- son--Pat Bruce and Karen Jeffrey--Ruthie Parker and Clarena Payton. Wanta buy a sweater, pencil, pin, chance on a turkey, annual etc? They are being sold. Presidents of all classes met with Miss Jessop and Mr. Grubb to select lyceum numbers for next year. Freshman Class meeting to select class colors, flower, and motto. Everyone exchanging pictures. McLeansboro beat us at our first basketball game. Mt. Vemon beat us 63-33. Juniors ordered their class rings. DECEMBER Six weeks end, but to help cheer us we beat Mt. Carmel. We were beaten by Carmi. Lawrenceville beats. Everything is covered with snow. Beaten again, by Albion. Several are sore today from falling off sleds last night. But wasn'r it funl A victory for Flora tonight 65-48. Everything is looking like Christmas. The Art Club has a Christmas scene in the hall, and the Pep Club, a Christmas tree and a picture of Santa in study hall. Ccontinued on page 74, 56
