348 Band The band is the most select group of the department, as all members have to be able to play an instrument before becoming a member. Muchtime was spent in the football season on marching and colorful formations for home games and our game at Salem. The band appeared also in concert at fall institute and the Shriners' benefit football and marching band clinic at Carbondaleand was named one of the outstanding bands present. This band played forall school functions and several civic parades. During the summer months many will be members of the City Band of the summer camp band at Egyptian Music Camp, Duquoin. QA , CAOPUJ This musical ensemble of girls is an integral-part ofthe music department, affording its members the opportunity to study and sing music in ensembles of three parts. This group consists mostly ofunderclassmen, aswell as former choir members. Concentrated study was spent on contest numbers in the spring. Muchtime was also spent on Familiarizing all members with music in general.
