December Z3 There was a Chrustmas program thus afternoon and the chour came out wuth theur new robes whuch us another added umprovement We also played Albuon here December 24 Chrustmas vacatuon start d Due to the fact that the uanutors wushed to mprove the study hall floor the Pep Club Chrustmas tree has to be taken down rught un the muddle of the mornung December 25 Santa was very good to most of us and the real purpose of Chrustmas hasnt been forgotten December 29 30 3l The l-loluday Tournament un Mt Vernon We came un fourth January 2 Another tournament at Flora Faur fueld came un fourth January S School re opened thus mornung and everythung was so clean that we hated to walk on the study hall floor Its surface was very comparable to a skatung runk also The shadow of semesters us begunnung to turn us all unto book worms January 9 Salem here January lO Brudgeport there January l3 The F F A helped maneuver th mules to the gym floor and what a game lvl Kurk patruck uust couldnt stay on lt must have been our Hustory lesson today The gym was packed to see the Donkey basketball game January l6 Lawrencevulle here un another thrull packed game Faurfueld beat Lawrencevulle January l7 Faurfueld won over Carmu January 22 Semester exams January 26 Because of the lack of power at the school on the 23rd exams were funushed today January 27 Junuor magazune druve started to BY January 30 Mt Carmel here January Sl F H A broadcasts from Mt Vernon February 6 Flora played here and the teana fought hard The Howells Derformed un front of the student body thus mornung F ruwry ll The Pep Club had Its annual Valentune party The Valentune ueen looked nuce and the Kung was handsome Every one unhaled to make theur vvausts smaller un order that ut wouldnt cost so much to get un The Pep Club gurls looked forward to theur new club puns and now they re here February l2 lt was Luncoln s burthday so con sequently there wasn t any school February 13 Olney agaun met Faurfueld un bas ketball February ZO Albuon played Faurfueld on thcur floor February Zl Brudgeport here February 27 Our last game was played tonught wuth Robunson un theur gym March 5 More grades are turned unto the otfuce March l The F F A banquet us thus evenung March The Noruonettes gave a performance before the as embly uon show thus evenung Dresses were shupped to the club and were modeled by the gurls of the club March 23 Sprung vacatuon Durung vacatuon we have been wonderung about what the Senuor play would be luke and just how many banquets we could go to March 3l School reopens A rul l5 James Dutton appeared thus afternoon and performed for us Aprul Zl The next to the last set of grades sent un to the otfuce Aprul 28 say you a we had a very une entertaunung group today the Deep Ruver Quartet May Zl Funal exams May Z3 At last the great day us arruvung Bac calaureate May 24 The rest of the funal exams are today Nflay 26 The last grades of the term were handed In May L8 Commencement Aduos from thc Senuor Class of l9-lb Q u u J Il l'IIl Ill . eb 1 -- . STUDENT COUNCIL One of the most lmportant hlghlnghts of the year was the organuzatuon of the Student Councll The councul had Its beglnnung when Eddle Ackman Dorothy Koontz Jeene Rumburg and Bob Elllott were chosen to form a constututlon and wuth Betty Mar tan Vnrganra Self and Vrolet Hudelson represented Falrfueld at the Student Councul Conference at Pans lllunous On December 3 l9-47 the students bya vote of 309 to 90 accepted the councul and the constututuon Later home room repre sentatnves were elected and on December l7 I947 Mr Holt admnnrstered the oath of office to the representatnves Each club has a speaking member to attend meetings of the councul The meetrngs are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from l2 OO to l2 55 The councll decnded to place a fnve per cent tax on all clubs with selllng concessions and those who do not have anything other than dues will be charged a munumum of flve dollars a year In the past year the councsl has accom plxshed several worthwhile things such as sponsornng of fure drulls placing new flags In the varuous rooms and sponsorung the March of Dnmes Campaign The Advisory Commnttee represents three elective groups Mr Holt chose Mrs Worrell the faculty chose Mr lllsnuk and the Student Council selected Mr Kurk patruck The followang are the officers and e home room representatlves Vuolet Hudelson Presudent Dale Smuth Vuce President Bob Stnerwalt Secretary John Burgess Treasurer Fred Ackman Parllamentaruan Jack Monroe Betty Brown Joyce Guy Charles Werner Mary Ann Holland Bull Bnrckett Cecil Lelnard Marjorie Felux Barbara Kelley Julua Jelley Vance Harrns Junior Stewart The followlng are the club speakung representatuves Randall Ellnott Commerce Club Arlene Smith Pep Club Charles Stelner 5 o Club Lester Wlllmore F Club Ed Knmmel Latun Walma Wallace F H A a e Barr F Vurgunua Self Sclence Club Charletta Webber Conservatuo Dorothy Felix G A A Emmltt Buchanan Shop Club Januce Robbins Brayer Staff Club . . . . , th . l -T Ol ' ' J o I -F. .
