l.. Coach I. E. Landon Assistant Coach Jack Looney t L .7 . . in Co-Captains Dwayne Parent, Paul Pitts, and Captain Wayne Rhoads. The growing football dynasty at Fairfax under the direction of coaches J. E. Landon and Jack Looney finished the season with a win-loss record of 9-1. With five starters back off of last years state class B runners-up squad the Red Devils ran up impressive scores on their opponents. Several times during the season the Red Devils were ranked top team in Class B. Once again the Devils opened the season against a Class A team, this time it being Claremore: Score: Fairfax 8, Claremore O. Shidler was the next victim: The score: Fairfax 44, Shidler O. Next in line was a trip to Newkirkg Score: Fairfax 42, Newkirk 6. The Tulsa Holy Family Crusaders, a power in the Oklahoma Catholic conference was the next victim for the Red Devilsg Score: Fairfax 44, Holy Family 8. Next came the Pawnee's Black Bears: Score: Fairfax 46, Pawnee 0. The Tornados of Drumright were guests at our stadiumg Score: Fairfax 48, Drumright 0. Dewey's Double- wing Bulldoggers visited here and fought a hard game: Score: Fairfax 46, Dewey 0. The grudge game was next for the Red and Whiters against l-lominyg Score: Hominy 14, Fairfax 12. Cleveland played host to the Red Devils their last game: Score Fairfax 34, Cleveland 6. After the season was over, conference coaches picked the North State, Northern Five, and l3-B District Teams. Our boys who made it were: Ends: Darrelllslambright and Mackey Balkmang Tackles: Paul Pitts and Ben Burnett: Guards: Paul Ducotey and Steve Crismon: Center: Melvin Alexander, who was chosen Outstanding Player in the Conference: Backs: J.
