Barry Schooler , Shirley Carter . These five groups went to the State Music Contest, April 27, 1962. They left school Thursday at noon and traveled to Booneville for an overnight stay. They went on to Columbia the next day. After performing they went on to Jefferson City for a look at the State Capitol. Ratings received were: Clarinet Quartet--I5 Flute Quartet--IIQ Piano Solo--I3 Trumpet Trio--II3 and French Horn Solo--I.

Gala' Ghz 6016 The Girls' Glee Club,. under the direction of Mr. Corwin Elliot, participated in the Christmas concert and the spring concert. The latter consisted of several delightful selections including their two contest numbers. They received a II rating at the Maryville contests. Serum Swat T T The Senior Sextet has performed for the Sorosis, the Junior, Senior Banquet, Commencement, and participated in the Maryville Contests. This group has been instructed by Mr. Elliot who is leaving us this year. We the music students, would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all the ef- forts he has put forth in the five years he has taught us.

They marched in the parade and participated in a mass band concert with three other schools. The group marched at all home games and some out-of-town. Here they presented a number of clever formations and skits. At Maryville College Homecoming Parade the band received a number one rating for their marching. At Thanksgiving the concert band attended the annual mass band festival held this year at Westboro. Here again they played in a mass band concert. Contest time at Maryville found the group rating a State Contest I. The annual Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert were outstanding events in the school's activities.
