Dramatic Club We eonsitler the llraniatie t'lnb one of the crowning' aehieve- ments aevoniplisheml in 1925-26. We Certainly neetl not say that our sehool is laelcing' in the finer aetivities of school life. Vile have shown the people ol' our eonnnunity that we flo not take up all our extra tinie with athleties but flivimle ituso as to develop the intel- leetual life as well as the physieal. The elnb was started by Bliss Virginia Corse in the fall of 1921, but was discontinued. lt was re-established in 1925 and thru the efforts of Miss t'or.se and the eo-operation of the students, the re' sult was more than pleasing. The purpose of the Dramatic Club was to give to the students an opportunity to show talents which would otherwise lie dormant. The membership of the Club num- bered fifty-five. tJffieers were elected at the first meeting-Miss Loraine Walker, presidentg Miss Helen Baker, vice-president, and Miss Gertrude Johnson, Secretary. There were not more than fifteen present at this meeting' but these few boosted and at the next meet- ing practically all the members were present. The business of the t'lub was first taken care offthen the t'hairn1an took charge of the reniaining' part of the prograni. This prograni consisted of vocal duets, and a short play. The soeial hour followed-but this part of the evening' eoulcl not have been more thoroughly enjoyed than the prograni. lt was tleeitled that these ineetingis should be helcl once a nionth. Lists were made out so as to give eaeh member a chance. l'1veryone was to be on a prograin eoininittee, a refreshment com- niittee, anal to participate in a prograin at least onee. This plan was found to work very well. We helcl one open meeting whieh was a tleeiflecl sueeess. The public- showed their appreeiation and were loud in their praise. The greatest aehievenlent of the llraniatie t'lnb was the play. The best. talent of the sehool was manifested in As a XVOIIIHH Thinketh. It was proof that the efforts put forth were not all in vain. There are sineere hopes that the llraniatie t'lnb will not per- ish but that it will entertain a bright future.
