You, the graduating classes of 1952, have the future of the world in your hands. During your three-year stay at Fairfax we have worked together in order to learn to live together. I feel that we have greatly succeeded at this goal. Now you are ready to leave and go out into the world. For many of you this will mark the end of your formal education, but I know you will never stop learning, for education is the answer to the world's problems. Goodbye and good luck. SAM HAMERMAN, Boys' Vice Principal. This year, we at Fairfax High School have gathered new laurels for the school. Our graduates have distinguished themselves in the colleges by the high record of scholarship that has been maintained. In the field of entertainment, our students have brought enjoyment to many people through radio and television. One of our girls has won the ora- torical contest sponsored for all the high school girls in Los Angeles. And so, does the roster of our achievements grow. May we of Fairfax continue to enjoy the success which has been ours. MARGARET MILLS NOE, Girls' Vice Principal. The rate of progress has been phenomenal since the days when teenage George Washington surveyed the boundary lines of the properties of Lord Fairfax. The young people of colonial days waited months before the news of world happen- ings reached them. Today we see and hear events three thousand miles away at the moment they occur. We use electrical gadgets, steam and gas engines, and many other modern miracles and labor-saving devices as a matter of course. The rate of progress from now on will no doubt be stepped up to an even faster pace. There is still a great deal of future pioneering to be done in newer and greater developments, not only along technical lines but also in sociological areas. We are confident that the pupils of Fairfax High School will contribute their share to improving world conditions. Our best wishes go with you. Keep climbing, and good luck to all of youl Sincerely, WILLIAM J. GOODWIN, Principal.
