CASTILIANS We are the mighty Castilian class of '52 Loyal, brave and bold in all we do— The song of the Senior A's of W'52 resounded dear and true on October 23, os, in o fitting climax to their presen- tation skit, each Castilian leaped through the cardboard replica of the class ensign onto the stage, unveiling to the student body his maroon sweater with its emblem of maroon and gray. Time and time again the owed Senior Bee's attempted to outcheer them but the combined dignity and pride inherent since the Golden Age of Castile triumphed. The tradi- tional rivalry subsided long enough for everyone to enjoy Quartet , the Castilians' Color Day gift to Colonialville. This was by no means the first display of Castilian spirit; on October 4 the enthusiosm of the 150 Al2's at- tending their Senior Breakfast had completely filled the cafeteria with laughter and friendliness. Despite torrential rains which caused its postponement from January 18 to January 25, Fiesta de las Flores — the Senior prom — proved a success. Over 100 couples enjoyed Pat Stewart's orchestra in flower bedecked Greenwoy Court. January 28, Greenway Court was the scene of the Castilians' last social event — the Senior Brunch. The culmination of three years' work and play occured Thursday evening January 31, 1952 when the 210 mem- bers of the class of W'52 passed through Colonial halls as students for the last time and bade Fairfax farewell.
