I leave with more than a handful of memories and sadness in my heart. Mr. Roger Williams, Jr. and Lynn Williams SENIOR CLASS HISTORY As J gaze out my window thinking of how rapidly graduation has arrived, I think of how Fairfax began and ended with each of us. Annie trotted in with her love for horses and left at a full gallop. Lynn W. came in a third-year French I student and left a six-year French III student. Schnoor roared in like a lion and left like a lamb, while Wank tottered in like a lamb and left like a lion. Wris- ton came in with a roommate and left with two turtles. Cam came in as Prosser’s roommate and left as Prosser’s roommate. Prosser arrived with large cans of grapefruit sections and departed with small cans of grapefruit sections. Viv came with a friendly smile for every- one. Cheri came alone but won’t leave without Peggy. Cook barreled in like Phyllis Diller and left like a Toni commercial. Ruth strolled in as Ruth Ann and left as “Pifull.” Peggy flew in a Peruvian and drove away as an American. Peden came in as Mickie and left as Marg. Tally floated in softly. Ruba bounced in advertising Aruba as a paradise and left de- nouncing the Battle of Gettysburg. Lynn H. came in all of 5° tall with hopes of growing and left disappointed. Glenda came in with her guitar and good voice and left the same. Tricia blew in like a raisin and rolled out like an M M. Myra came in with a million freckles and left with them. Beth came a blonde and left brunette. Kathy came in with an English accent and left with a Southern one. Lindana came in with 2,990 pairs of shoes and left with 4,990 pairs. Diana came in saying “I can’t help it if I don’t talk like a Texan”. Madelon came in with two large roommates and left with one pint-sized one. Lu came in with a perculator and left without one. Cheek arrived with a dress to her ankles, chew ing her nails, and left in a miniskirt, waving her fabulous fakes. Kim tripped in laughing and left yelling hysterically, “Oh, no! I’m so depressed!! Candy came in telling stories and left telling even bigger ones. Sarah C. came in read ing Plato and left reading Rod. Ellen walked in mute and left dumb. Kris tripped in with psyche in her soul. “P” came as president and left as president. Now we go our separate ways, leaving Fairfax with the memory of our most fantastic class. 55 VES = Se As} Se ee) as x Se NY) i MADELON FAIR Class Beauty ANES LUCILLE JE Friendliest GSWORTH utest LYNN HOLLIN C i | i t i‘ Kim CERTA Wiittiest PATRICIA HALL Most Likely to Succeed PENNY WHEELER Best All-Around PAT SCHINDELER Most Athletic THE PROPHECY OF THE CLASS OF 1969 The year is 2001. The day is June 7. Thirty-two years have passed since the members of the class of 1969 accepted their chal- lenge of the future. I often look back into those Fairfax days; those good old days . . . some sad, some happy, but never one without a memory. I remember Lu piling in the food at meals for that extra energy for the basketball game, which most of the time she played on her knees. Now Lu is the Heavyweight Foul-Out Champ, and in her spare time (warming the bench) wrote the best seller, DON’T WARRY ABOUT AIR MINEAZE. Then Cheri, how she used to constantly play cards! Now she is a professional gambler and is cleaning up Las Vegas. With Glenda entertaining the girls with her guitar, there was never a dull moment, and now she is making her fortune on a Broad- way musical. The other musician, Viv, hummed “Moon River” all day and consequently owns and operates the ocean liner, “The Moon River Special”. Cameron used to mope around the halls when that certain letter never arrived, but now “they're” busily raising the crop of Cam’s Cadets. Next, Prosser, skipping down the hall with that smile. Now I know that she is the famous model for the “Ultrabrite Toothpaste Company.” The pastime of Ruba as our senior mouthleader now is running up and down the a isles of an international airline yelling “Yeh Team” (in Spanish)! Tally’s room was the “Fairfax Delicatessen” and now she owns the famous chain of restaurants called ‘‘Tally’s Tasty Treats.” Peggy would sit for hours brushing her short hair in hopes of length. She never succeeded for now she has the most exclusive wig shop in the world. I remember how Myra would return to the dorm after many hours of practicing the piano. It must have paid off for now she is teaching piano at Fishburne, while the artist of our class, Beth, is teach- ing her medical students how to paint boats. I remember Ruth would lock herself away and write “Dear John” letters but now she files law suits. Tricia always had a complex about her height, and now I understand she is playing the Jolly Green Giant in the pea commercial. Then there was the Little One, Lynn, who never could lend out her size 3 clothes. Now, would you believe, she is modeling the Tall Fashions for the six-feet-and-over girls. Mickie’s dream of being a vet came partially true as she is specializing with one certain “Beagle.” 58 Oh, Schnoor, I remember how we used to mock her about her “frog.” It seems now she has a world famous frog farm in the north, naturally. Kathy’s love for jewelry led her into the profession of jeweler and she now beats Tiffany’s, hands down. Lynn W. was the fam- ous cook and seamstress of our class and I received a letter from her telling me she is back at the Hall teaching Home Ec. Lindana would turn up the volume on her stereo and the Span- ish music would blare up the hall. Her love for the language sent her into the world of teach- ing. I remember Wriston’s hatred of cold weather while painting snow scenes. Now she is teaching art in Ubangiland, and trying to make the turtles talk. The barn news leads me to Annie who traveled those steps twenty-two hours a day. The ambition of riding professionally led her into winning the Olympics on her famous stead, Terry. I look back to Candy, but oddly, I can never see her. I know now that she would always have hands going a mile a minute trying to explain her point. No wonder she is the most famous sign language expert in the world. Then, Kim, always being Kim, used to sit and stare for hours at something to occupy her mind. Now, Kimberly has accomplished her task and put a patent on her new invention to cure boredom . . . laugh! Sarah would tempt the halls with her gourmet cooking. Now, she has written and published her cookbook, 101 WAYS TO SURVIVE IN BOARDING SCHOOLS. I remember Madelon and how she used her arms. Funny as it seems, she is now in a sideshow with her famous title “Fats... Do Your Thing.” The dream of Gwen as the fair young maiden is faithfully trying to come true. She is in Washington trying to change the U.S. into a monarchy ruled by Princess Gwen. Wank used to bandage her own wounds but now is the Commanding R.N. at Johns Hopkin s Hospital (apparently with her favorite commanding general, too!) Penny, better known as “P”, spent most of her time at nearby ski resorts. Now she is the Ladies’ Champion in Switzerland. Diana spent most of her time worrying over the ideal mates for all her friends. No more sleepless nights for her as she has invented the 100% fool-proof Date Computer. Kris was always scared to death about riding and now I hear she is busy in Africa saving elephants. Ellen would stay up until all hours eating her baby food and studying. Now she is the president of the Gerber Compa- ny and on the side is writing Mohn’s Encyclopedia. Cook used to bounce down the hall with her heavy left hand while on her way to the pool. I heard she is still swimming and the left hand is heavier than it was when she left! Well, there is the Class of 1969, and the memories we all hold are dear to us. Funny, but you'll never forget the girls of 1969 as each one left . . . . Softly. 59 UNIOR CLASS OFFICERS Front row: Friedberg, Miss McDuffie, Ray Back row: Dorman, Robinson INNORAH?
