Bob Nussbaum In Argentina Bob Nussbaum, the son of the Robert Nussbaums of Fairbury, lived on the dry, flat plains of Formosa, Argentina from June '74 to August '74 as a result of the Americans Abroad program. His family included his father Miguel, a printer and English teacher; his mother Lola, a secretary and history teacher; and a brother, Miguel. Bob attended the National School in Formosa half days. Bob gained self-discipline from participating in the community-sponsored activities of soccer and rugby, which resembles our football. Language wasn't a barrier in social activities. Music, dance, and nightclubs all set the scene for a festive attitude. Bob, who is majoring in Business Management at Eastern Illinois University, found his areas of interest expanded as a result of his summer experience. He was, though, glad to return to the smiling faces of his friends and family. 9

Jeff Stiver In Sweden From July '73 to July '74 Jeff Stiver of Fairbury, became a resident of Goteborg Sweden. While living with the family of Boel and Mikael Fagerstrom, Jeff attended school at the Siegreid Rudebeck's Gymnasium. He majored in a sociology line and trained in Aikido, a Swedish form of self defense. Highlights of Jeff's stay in Sweden were: belonging to Goteborg's AikidoKlubb, playing Dean Martin in a winter show, and meeting the Prime Minister and King of Sweden. Much of Jeff's leisure time was spent with his girlfriend Kerstein Haugen, but he did find time to stay one week in Norway and to visit Andres Wallen-tine. Andres, who was an A.F.S. student to Fairbury during the '73-'74 year, lived only 20 miles from Jeff. Though living in Sweden was a great experience, Jeff admitted that the sight of his family and friends was a happy one. 8
