Prepare For The Future Academic excellence and prepar¬ ing to face the real” world was a primary focus for Fair Park students. Diligent study became more impor¬ tant with the new 2.0 grade point re¬ quirements for extra-curricular eligibility. New graduation requirements found more students enrolled in Algebra I classes. Computer Literacy became a must for new freshmen, and Library Science was eliminated. ChemCom was added as a new science alter¬ native. Homework was still required, par¬ ticularly as finals approached. Study¬ ing in advance and lots of cramming brought either the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat when final report cards came in May.

The cafeteria staff continued to provide delicious meals, and an increased number of faculty members seemed to partake. Many students still brought sack lunches, and some teachers ate more during second period than most did during the noon hour. Girls ' purses still carried more suckers than pictures, and at Reservation Day we all pigged out.
