Our defense held the Falcons till the last quarter. Witte hit nine out of sixteen passes for 1 83 yds. Our first two touchdowns came before Northwood had a single first-downi Fair Park 32 — North Caddo 0 The Indians expected a better game out of the Rebels but it was a massacre. Witte, completing 17 out of 21 passes, was too much for the Rebel defense. Touchdowns by Bo McCollister, Bruce Bickham, and Mark Hotard. Fair Park 7 — Woodlawn 12 k i r ■ Our first upset of the year, after four wins, fell to Wood- lawn after Fair Park failed to score twice from inside the 10-yard line. Witte hit 10 out of 22 attempts for 135 yards. Lamar Turnage scored in the second quarter from a 5-yard run. Fair Park 34 — Airline 14 Jack Witte, with a badly bruised knee, threw two fourth- quarter touchdown passes to Bo McCollister and Bruce Bickham to upset a near Flyer victory. Coaches said we were outplayed, but it's the score that counts! Fair Park 8 — Huntington 0 Although in a heavy rain, Witte completed 7 out of 8 pas- ses for a total of 74 yards. One was a touchdown to McCollister, Witte's favorite target, which made his 1 1th touchdown pass for the season. Fair Park 14 — B. T. Washington 0 The game began as a four-way tie for first place in the dis- trict. Witte completes 16 out of 39 passes for 113 yards. The third touchdown was made by Bo McCollister in the first 3 minutes. Later, Paul Turnage recovered a fumbled kickoff on the B.T.W. 7-yard line. We missed our chance to score when Witte fumbled on B.T.W. 7-yard line. Leo- nard Winzer recovered B.T.W. fumble and scored from 15-yard runback. This was a testimony of the great Indian second half. With a 14-0 disadvantage at halftime. Fair Park came back with touchdown passes to Gary Bascom, Roy Henderson, and Lamar Turnage. Special credit to the defense for interceptions of Viking passes. Fair Park 1 2 — Southwood 20 The Indian defense had a time with the Cowboy rush this year. Many penalties hurt our offense as well. Don San- ders first scored on a punt return fumble, then Turnage on a 4-yard touchdown pass from Witte. Witte completed 17 out of 33 passes for 150 total yards. Fair Park 0 — Captain Shreve 21 It was a super defensive game. The game was a toss-up until the fourth quarter. We gave the Gators the hardest game of their season. Witte hit 1 3 out of 21 passes but it just wasn’t enough to score. Don't worry. Gators, we’ll be here next year, too! J ' ' ’ Fair Park 28 — Byrd 17 McCollister caught three touchdown passes from Witte the Reservation Day game. Lamar Turnage made a 7-ya T.D. run in the fourth quarter. Witte hit 9 for 22 passes. 211 FIRST ROW: M. Green, M. Cottrell, H. Kizer, M. Fry, L. Watts. SECOND ROW: R. Williford, T. Brandoo, T. Long, B. Bickham, H. W.lliams THIRD ROW: J. Giles, B. book of memories. This yearbook is not just another book — it is a reflection of the lives of many individuals who attend Fair Park High School. We hope that we have been able to capture the year as it really occurred. We would like to express our thanks to all of the members of the 1974 SEQUOYAH Staff and, of course, to our spon- sor, Mrs. Judy Reynolds. Without these people our yearbook would be lacking in character. And lastly, you the student and faculty for your support. May this yearbook serve as an inspiration of your past experiences of the tradition of Fair Park, for it is you that keeps the tradition alive! 287 Autographs
