Heads huddled together over homework, a ioke shared with a friend, a warm and sincere hand- shake - this is the friendliness. It gives direction to lost sophomores and a push to a stalled car. lt makes plans for the future, links arms, has fun together. lt makes new friends and strengthens old ones. It is sore feet from much dancing, the all-day signing of Sequoyahs, a wave of a hand in greeting, an open heart and an open hand toward newcomers. Because of it, ideas are ex- changed, dreams discussed, laughter shared. This is the friendliness.

Wir' in A Q - V a E Tradition is our Indian mascot. It is the Dixie Drill Team, letter iackets, cafeteria music. lt is the anxious waiting tor the outcome ot the beauty election, the favorite and Mr. and Miss Fair Park election. Rivalry at the Thanksgiving game is keen because of it. The uniforms of the Honor Legion, caps and gowns, yellow mum corsages with black satin ribbons - all are a part of the tradition. The coronation of queens, ordering ot senior rings - all are be- cause of tradition. We order invitations, do research themes, take final tests. Then there is baccalaureate, graduation, diplomas.
