FAIR PARK WINS uBest SHREVEPCDRT AD Award The students of Fair Park High School have been presented the fourth annual award by the Shreveport Advertising Club as Shreveport's Best Ad of l952. This phrase is to be interpreted as the institution or individual which publicizes the city during a twelve-month period. The determining factors in the selection of Fair Park for the 1952 award were the winning of the State AA football championship by the school squad and the outstanding sportsmanship displayed by the players, students, and fans, Graydon Smart, representative of the Award Com- mittee, explained during the presentation. In presenting the award, Mayor Clyde Fant said, I whole- heartedly concur with the decision of the committee in the Four selection of Fair Park for the award. He pointed out that football and sportsmanship had not been the only factors in the selection but other activities which promoted the name of Shreveport throughout the south as Well. Mr. E. L. Alberson, principal, in accepting the award and expressing appreciation for the school, said, To me, this award has a deeper meaning than merely Winning the championship. ln these days juveniles are criticized so much for their actions, it seems good to learn that a group of young boys and girls, for the girls figure in the selection, toofshould be selected as the best ad for the city in 1952. I hope that we will remain humble and continue in the future as we have in the past, to do our very best.

H LCUISIANA igh Sc had 358 and the ninth had 173. The 1953 enrollment is comprised of 1,696 looys and girls in the grades of the ninth through the twelfth. With wide eyed wonder 478 Fair Park freshmen view the harmonious and congenial life surrounding them. The freshmen class of 1953 has completed the transition from junior high school to senior high school with a minimum of adjustment. The new status of 466 sophomores has awakened their interest in school activi- ties and increased their diligence in the classroom and responsibilities to them- selves. . The spirit, cooperation and willingness in which the junior class has taken school life is a distinct credit to the 371 members of this class. The smallest student section of Fair Park is comprised of 357 seniors. This group of students is to be congratulated for its four long hard years of intense study, their loyalty to the school and participation in many activities during this period. Each of the four classes of Fair Park is different but all have the common love for their school: and as a school is nothing more than the people in it, their common love for each other is out- standing. hool Tbree
