The first week of September, with a chill in the air and the glorious colors of the trees over head, finds friends and neighbors gathered on the front steps in anticipation of the new program schedule with favorite teachers. School is never the same as it is the first day. Greeting old friends, making new ones, claiming lockers, and going to class forms a busy day. Members of three classes, seniors, juniors and sophomores, assume an air of self confidence. The fresh- men stand about in shy groups, amazed at the activity around them. Scarcely has a routine been established in classrooms when election for cheerleaders and class officers rapidly follow one another. Twelve A
