mm March '52 March is a month for the students at Fair Park to develop ability and personality by participating in two entertainments. The social events which are held during these windy days are the He-Male Beauty Contest and the B. O. T. C. Minstrel. The first is sponsored by the Hi-Y Clubs and is participated in by the whole school. Each home room selects its beauty and dresses him for the judging. ln 1952 Bonnie Crawford and Bill Massey tied for first place with Iimmie Maxwell coming in second, Paul Iones third and Don Demaree fourth. One of the acts presented between groups of Beauties is a lovely chorus line made up of members of the football team. Dressed in charming cos- tumes designed by the Home Economics Department, these boys display their abilities in the field of dancing and sing- ing, using these terms in their broadest sense The B O T C M nstrel presents many black-faced and white-gloved students in song and dance routines interspersed with hilarious Jokes by the comedians of the school. The divisions of the book carry over the prismatic colors found in the rainbow, blue for retrospect, purple for principles of democracy, red for recognition of ability in leadership, gold for physical achieve- ment, and green for growth of personality. Like these vibrant colors are the experi- ences the students accept as an everyday occurrence as they live together Within the school. During the rustle of graduation activities there comes a time when the senior must stop to think seriously about his future. What does it hold, college, business school, work or marriage? To help the undecided senior a series of aptitude tests are given to certify in what field he excells. These are given by the State with the cooperation of the school. First the tests, then a private consultation, help many an uncertain student determine what he wants to do after graduation from high school. Six
