Class Prophecy It isthe year 1966 and I(Kathleen Brooks)am leaving my home in Lafayette, whereI am secretary at a Welfare Agency, to see what can be done about the Old Fair Oaks school build- ing. It hasnot beenin use since the class of '56 has departed. I amto attend a banquet atthe Fair Oaks school under the old Oak tree. It is in honor of the graduating class of 1956. The banquet will consist of cokes and potato chips left over from the '56 candy sales. We shall dan ce to the rhythm of the Sand Burr Boogie composed by Bob Williams. The band this is playing for us features ''Hot Lips'' Chuck Halsema on the trumpet. Mrs. Hugh Long (the former Doris Nelson) and Karen Parks (who is now alsomarried) sing with the 'Hot Lips Halsema Band. The song they have chosento sing will be Shifting Whispering Sandburrs. ! The first to arrive is Howard Nelson in his old '55 Mer- cury and with himis DeanConley. They tell me they have just returned from a week's vacation in Florida. Howard and Dean are in a business together raising Box Elder Bugs. As Ilwelcome Mrs. Tom Cover (the former Linda Mur- phy) she tells me she and Tom live in southern Indiana with their three sets of twins. They are now living on welfare. The thirdclassmateI welcomeis Mrs. Maureen (Michal) Schultz. She now has a duck farm, where she trains one pet duck for a circus. Her pet duck will also be part of our en- tertainment. Driving up next in her own personal hot rod called ''Lil' Frank is Janice Walther. Her fiance Frank Barger built it for her. She works in Fritz Blankership's Funeral Home as a beautician. She sets the corpse hair, getting them ready for burial. Their motto is ''Drop Dead. Shirley Hoffman is now slinging Hashin Ruffus Simmons' Horse Hash House''. As you know he has his own horse ranch where he raises all of his own meat. Another old classmate Bob Fredel tells me he is still working at Krogers as carry out boy, and he is hoping to be promoted to stocking shelves. Charles Schultz is happy to report that he is still work- ing on electronics and hoping to be a tube doctor. We have decided to tear down the old school and builda modern factory in its place. In the factory we shall produce a new kind of glass made froma method discovered by Everett Piatt. With this method we will use all the sandand sandburrs in Fair Oaks. This special kind of galvanized glass will be used for building glass houses. Mrs. Shirley (Bill) Wilcox will manage the factory when she has a little time off from her duties at home. Ten years from now in the year 1976 we plan to have an- other reunion. NEVILLE'S SOUTH SIDE TEXACO Rensselaer, Indiana SHEDD FLORAL CO. Rensselaer, Indiana
