PROPHECY We, the SENIOR CLASS of 1950, finally find our- selves in the year of 1960, just ten years from the time of our graduation ceremonies. AS I, MARY (SAYERS) MURPHY, stroll down the sidewalk in Fair Oaks, (now a thriving metropolis of 15,000) whom should I chance to meet, but Mr. and Mrs. LIGHTEL WHITAKER. I read in the paper the other day that LIGHTEL had just put the finishing touches on his perpetual motion machine. His wife, (DOROTHY GILMORE) has organized a baby sitter's club, which seems to be very successful. I had time to chat only a few minutes, as I had to meet my husband, RAY MURPHY, for dinner at the Lunchtimer's Cafe, operated by RITA SAYERS. We were certainly surprised when one of the waitresses was FRANCES BELL. FRANCES told us that her sister, ROSEMARIE BELL and PEARL MYRES were in an all-girl's orchestra in San Diego, Cali- fornia. After dinner was over, we sat back in our chairs and enjoyed a good television show. We saw the new Ladies Remain Standing show, starring ED JANOSOV and JOE MAGEE as masters-of-ceremony, better known as the Corny Twosome . The show was sponsored by Hotsy Totsy Baby Shoes, made by the CALVIN HUFFMAN MANUFACTURING COMPANY. When the show was over, we left the Cafe as my husband had to get back to his law office. Being there, I went in to chat with MARLENE TORBET, one of his most capable secretaries. I left my husband's office and hurried on to have some teeth pulled at DR. KARL PATZSCHKE'S dental office. While I was there JOANNE (MYERS) BRUSNAHAN came in to get her upper plate fixed because her little son had kicked her in the mouth. JOANNE told me that FRAN MATTOCKS and JOYCE DUNN are operating an asylum for boy-crazy girls out in Butte, Montana. I left the dentist's office, and hurried on to pick up a suit I had cleaned at ZEENAT KNAPP'S SURE- KLEAN LAUNDRY. We were both very surprised to hear on the radio that PAUL SCHULTZ has just been elected governor of the State of Indiana. Now I must go home and get supper for my husband and the twins. Tonight we are going to see the play to be given by the Seniors of 1960. See you later.
