In its role as policy-maker and administra- tor, the Board serves the educational needs of our community, Its nine elected memhers serve tire- lessly without pay to better serve these needs. Only through continued cooperation with an un- derstanding in the Board and its work, will Fair Lawn realize the school system it deserves. Dr. james A. Kimple, Superintendent of Schools Dr, james A, Kimple, formerly Assistant Su- erintendent, was a pointed Superintendent of chools to succeed r. Grover, who retired this year after ten years of service to Fair Lawn and its schools. Dr. Kimple comes to us with a wealth of experience and a devotion to those ideals which have made Fair Lawn a leader in the edu- cational field,

DR. ELBRIDGE C. GROVER After more than a decade of dedicated service to Fair Lawn and its schools, Dr, Elbridge C. Grover re- tired this year, On january 21, 1959, the citizens of Fair Lawn tendered him a testimonial in honor of his service. Through his efforts the Fair Lawn school sys- tem has grown to meet the educational needs of a com- munity whose population has more than doubled dur- ing his tenure. In the above picture, Dr. Grover is seen with his wife and daughter at the reception. The pic- ture at the right shows him in his office. 6
