The many events in high school. . .dates, ball games, dances, and friends., .may be remembered better if they are associated with the annual for that year. May the edition of the TIGER ROAR for 1960, with its new name and the Western theme; bring many happy thoughts to you—now — and in the years to come. . . . Ibdtitiioti We dedicate this year’s annual to one whohas helped many of us begin our first year in high school on the right foot. He is a teacher who is known to all the stu- dents at Fair Grove. His soft-spoken manner has gained him many friends among both students and parents. He is a sponsor of the Freshman class and also sponsor of the Fair Grove Chapter of the Beta Club. Yes, this edition of the 1960 TIGER ROAR is dedi- cated to MR. BILL GARRISON. T)douUofi ComU Admudwtcoti MR. E. LAWSON BROWN Superintendent MRS. E. H. REICH Elementary Supervisor MRS. Our class Now we are a class of 48 excited seniors. We look back over the years and remember our many projects to make money. These money-making projects, with the help of Mrs. Fowler, are still continuing as we look forward to our Washington trip next spring. With our last year almost gone, we want to express our appreciation and fond affec- tion to—our school's faculty. In our hearts Fair Grove will always be OUR school. being the first freshman class to enter the new building, we considered it quite an honor. %otio If you can't find a way, make one. Jiowa Carnation Blue and White 41 CUu jwplmi Hi Ivey! Well, well, Dixie! When did you open up 'Dixie's Diner' ? Just a couple of years after we graduated. Can I get you something? Just a cup of coffee. Have you heard from any of our classmates lately? Sure have! Sometimes they drop by here to eat. So, what's the latest? I see PATTY FLOYD regularly, she and Pete are still living in Thomasville. She really has her hands full with the twins. CHARLES STEPHENSON is sticking pretty close to home too. He's preaching, up near the mountains now, really doing great work. LINDA STILLWELL and GENELLE BYRANwere home to visit their folks just last week. They design clothes for tall women, even have their own shop in New York. PEGGY FLEMING and JANICE MYERS always had a knack for writing, now they own a newspaper in Chicago. AARON KENNEDY is talking life easy over in Hawaii. He lives there now. JAMES LOMAX now has a chain of Lomax's Grocery Stores all over the U. S. BARBARA GOINS has become a great brain surgeon. She's finally looking on the serious side of life. LINDA SAMUELS came by the other day. RICHARD HUSKINS has graduated from college and is playing pro- fessional football. Since JANE ELLIOTT'S father has retired she's open- ed up another florist on this side of town. I got a letter from SYLVIA PALMER yesterday. She just got another promotion. She's making a career in the navy, you know. JAMES TURNER always stops by my diner when one of his runs goes by here. He's still driving a truck. Say, Ivey, did you know that JOYCE BECK is the first lady police chief in the history of Thomasville? BRENDA HARRIS and VIRGINIA SPARKS have cre- ated a Sister Act. They dance and sing in night clubs all over the U. S. Just look at this picture of REGGIE BYERLY on this magazine! He's made his life a success modeling men's sportswear. DOUG O'KELlY just made another astounding dis- covery. I never thought he'd be a scientist. NINA RICHARDSON enjoys life. She and her rich husband travel around the world helping people. Nina was always kind-hearted. JAN LAMBETH is coaching basketball out at Fair Grove High School. SUE EMBLER is her assistant. JEFFREY McKINNON is working in his soap factory all week and fishing during the weekends. JERRY ALFORD is President of the local bank now. He always did look like an official to me. BARBARA SMITH'S husband is making a career out of the army. Barbara goes with him wherever he is stationed. CAROLYN HUGHES finally married a boy from her old school. JESSE WATFORD and JAMES WOODS have opened up a school for taxidermists in Raleigh. Ivey, you should go to 'The Rock' one night while you're in town! JERRY LITTLE, WILSON HEPLER, and JERRY JONES are playing there this week. They have the most famous three-piece band around. Since MARGARET GRUBB's reign as Miss America is over, she has been giving majorette Wessons to high school girls. MABEL SUGGS has become a successful actress. She has a contract with Warner Bros. Right now she is making a new movie. MARKS FARMER has become a stock car racer. BOBBIE BUIE, EDDIE PIERCE, JOHNNIE RUSSELL, SIDNEY WHITE, and JOSEPH WILSON are still working at different jobs around Thomasville. FRANCES THAYER and RUBY WELBORN have en- tered a convent and are living their lives as nuns. PEGGY MORRIS and LINDA EVERHART are now nurses in a hospital down in Florida. You remember BARBARA KIVETT, don't you? She's manager of the Greyhound Bus Lines now, I guess she just couldn't give up her love of buses. Mrs. Flowler finally got another senior sponsorto help her.
