w FRANK MAGEE CCenterj Pele , the tall center. Pele was a sure passer and a hard fighter. He was always in there mixing it . The plays that he launched were started with ac- curacy and safety. He was de- pendable and all the backs had confidence in his ability. EDMUND o DOINNELL fHalf Backp Rach earned his letter at half back and he should be one of our best players for next year. When he once got his fighting Irish blood up he was a dan- gerous tackler or ball carrier. CARL LAMBERT CEndj Carl's place at the wing will be hard to fill next year as we lose him through graduation. He played as regularly as anyone on the squad. His position was al- ways filled and it never gave any cause for worry for we knew that it was well cared for. He could play any position on the team. SAM CRESAP fHa1f Backj Sam always gave the best he had and that was plenty. He al- ways encouraged his team mates with kind words and plenty of pep and fight. When he started down the field with the ball it usually took more than one man to get him stopped. WILLIE DAVIS QTacklej Smellie was a pillar of strength in the line. He was dangerous in breaking through the line and nailing the man. NVe hope to have him back again next year. This was Willie's third year on the squad. PAGE FORTY-ONE

: yn, av. e CLARENCE BLACK CGuardj Smut played his first year this year. His grit and scrap were very much in evidence at all times. He is aggressive and will make a valuable line man in anotheryear. BOB WHITAKER CEndj Bob was a wonder at break- ing up interference and tackling the man at the same time. He re- ceived passes in a manner that is surprising. JOHN LOVE QTacklej Big john was one of the heaviest and hardest playing men on the team. Although handicap- ped at first by lack of experience he developed into a real player. RONALD MILLER CHalf Baekj G0osie played his first year this year and earned his place as half on the regular team. Al- though he only weighs 110 lbs. he won fame all over the El Paso Valley by his ability at broken field running. , JOHN ED WEBB CEndJ John Ed proved to be one of the biggest surprises of the year. Although a small man, he proved to be a great defensive man at end. He could always be relied upon to stop fast end runs. PAGE FORTY-THREE
