Participation in these activities has kept the FFA boys off the streets and in the fields: FFA Parent-Son Judging Contest, Christmas Ball, Pigeon hunt, testing seed. Four officers attended the State FFA Leadership Convention: Participated in the FFA Contest: State Livestock, Meat, and Agricultural Mechanics Con- tests. The FFA Chapter sold 543 boxes of fruit and had a slave auction to earn money. The FFA Star Green Hand was Randy Esbeck, and FFA Star Chapter Farmer was Craig Lykke. Other awards were Leadership Award- Mark Paulsen, Iowa Farmers- Bob Asberry and Craig Lykke, Iowa Farmer Apprentice-Dave May. 10 Remember the streakers and the tornado scare on the FHA camp- out? This was the last meeting of a very busy year lead by President Mary Ballou, Vice Pres. Jana Froker, Sec. Kathy Thompson, and Treas. Cyndi Peterson. The girls had a concession stand at all home football games selling pop- corn, maid-rites, coffee and hot chocolate. The wrestling break- fast, co-sponsors of the Christmas Ball (two FHAers were queen and V' • Students for Educational Service is the new name for FTA. What a time we had getting grubby as possible during the year and then dressing up for Grub Day; fixing valentine favors and then finding out we needed twice as many; camping in a raim getting straw down your back on a hayride; going pigeon hunt- ing and losing the pigeons in the pickup truck; tripping down the steps during the FHA style show; getting tapped in NHS when you really didn't think you'd make it; having emergency meetings about the pop machines; taking pictures for the annual and then finding out the camera was empty; and these were the club activities that made up the way we were . . .

Campouts, food, 3MA princess), the spring trip to the Pella Tulip Festival, and serving the FFA banquet were events of the FHA girls. The monthly meetings were held on home crafts, ter- rariums, valentine favors for a retirement home, a pot luck supper, Mother-Daughter Banquet and Style Show, an Easter egg hunt, a hayride and the never-to-be-for- gotten campout. Miss Zimmerman was the sponsor. SES events. SES co-sponsored the Christmas Ball, helped with Kindergarten round--and had a clothing drive with Ramona Olsen, Chairwoman.
