NEW EQUIPMENT SPURS INTEREST Working with a new machine, senior Jodi Sands starts to type an extra-credit exercise. Refurbished room 305 adds classroom space where Mr. Houck shows Michele Adam the basics of Accounting I as the rest of the class begins the homework assignment before classes change. Personal Typing replaces academic student Sandy Imboden's first quarter study hall. Two of the most popular programs available to students under the auspices of the Business Department were the business and general work programs which enable students to use the skills they had learned at school in the work world. Other outside experiences were RACC Career Day, Berks County Bankers Association meetings, and job interviews. In order to keep up-to-date, new equipment included 50 electric typewriters, 25 electric calculators, five transcribing machines, and an A.B. Dick MagCard Machine used interdepartmentally. academics 35
